What Is (CM)²?
(CM)² is an organization of like minded individuals that adhere to the idea of “Clean Mouth and Clean Mind” at school, work, in sports and all other aspects of life. It is a loose knit group with members bound together only by their agreement that this world would be a better place if we all lived by the principles of (CM)². There are no fees or dues for joining (CM)².

The only requirements for joining are:

• Live by the code: namely clean mouth / clean mind at all times
• Encourage others to live by (CM)²
• When seeing another (CM)², if you like, give them the salute (tug of the ear and a brush of the nose).

Where Is It Going?
We really don’t know just how far it will spread. Maybe it will reach clear around the world. Kind of makes you wonder if the world might be a little bit better place if more people agreed to “live by the code.”

There is strength in numbers and in order for us to have a strong voice in today’s world we need to have as many members as possible. We currently have nearly 1000 members from 5 countries and 22 States…wouldn’t it be great if we had 10,000!

How It Started
It began in a family meeting when my high school-aged boys pointed out that language used on the sports fields and at school was often vulgar and degrading. After some discussion we coined the phrase “clean mouth and clean mind” and decided that we would form our own little club in which we agreed to try to live by the concept of “clean mouth and clean mind.” We called it CM/CM. Moments later my wife suggested we simplify it to the algebraic expression, (CM)².

We had some black t-shirts printed with (CM)² on the front and back of the shirt. After just a few days a number of their friends inquired about the meaning of (CM)² and they too wanted in the club. Some of the parents, when they found out what (CM)² was about, also asked for shirts as reminders for themselves.
